Comenius meeting Munich 21-25 October

The aim of our 3rd Comenius meeting, was

- letting the students to be more aware of their own way of living, how the people lived 100 years ago, an how we live now - what are the changes, why do we change the way we live

- to learn how other students live in other countries

The Norwegian presentation

The Norwegian students also had a presentation about Norwegian art of living. They also went on an excursion to an old church and a viking exhibitions to find ornaments and motives for an art project.
They presented the result in Munich, and every partner school got an example of the work as a contributions for the Treasure Box.

And here is a film about how the students made this piece of art:

Some of the students at the Dr. Überreiter Privatgymnasium gave us a guided tour through Munich. We experienced during a couple of hours many of Munich's sights and learned interesting stories about the buildings and places. Very well done by the German students! Thanks!

Workshops

At school we had workshops in mixed groups. We had a fantastic workshop with Ipads, and learned to use different programs to tell a story. The German school has enough Ipads for a whole class, what a luxury! We envy you that!
Then we had group work with Legos. This was part of the Danish contribution. As you can see on one of the photos, a cloth (a Bavarian, actually!) was held between two groups. One of the group had the Lego bricks, the other group had the explanation on how to build the Lego. Then they had to use their English and communication skills to explain the other group how to do it. A fun activity!

Before we left for Munich, we were asked to bring newspapers from our countries. These were used to make collages of how their dream city would look like. As you can see, Capri sonne is an important thing for the students;)

Here are some of the results of the Ipad workshop

We also tried Prezi, a fun way to make a presentation!

BMW WORLD

We were invited to the superb BMW World, where we had a guided tour through the museum, and afterwards the students took part in a workshop. They went on a photo safari through the museum, in mixed groups, and presented their favorite photo and explained why they choose this one afterwards.
You can see the photos on top of this page.
